About Lujan.

Jose Ramon Lujan grew up in East Salinas, California, where music became part of everyday life. Surrounded by a diverse cultural landscape and a strong local music scene, he began developing the voice and perspective that would guide his path as an artist.

In 1997 he formed the California reggae band Dubwize, a project that would shape more than a decade of his musical journey. Touring and recording with the group for over fourteen years, Lujan built a reputation for authenticity, steady musicianship, and a deep respect for the roots of reggae and Caribbean-inspired sound.

Beyond performing, Lujan has long been committed to supporting the wider music community. In 1999 he founded Yard Stylee Records, expanding his work into production, collaboration, and mentorship. Over the years he has shared stages with Jamaican artists and performed alongside many local bands, contributing quietly but consistently to the growth of the regional reggae movement.

Today Lujan continues to carry forward the musical heritage that shaped him. His work reflects both the traditions of reggae and the spirit of the Salinas community that remains central to his voice, creating music rooted in rhythm, culture, and connection.
